Terrence Jenkins, 29, is known as Terrence J the adorable, fun loving co- host of BET’s 106&Park. Lately, he has been making his way into the spotlight with smaller roles on the television show The Game and the movies Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming and Burlesque. However brief they were, we enjoyed seeing him step out from his guy next door persona. Now he’s back on the big screen with a starring role as Michael in Think Like A Man. The film is based off of the book, Think Like A Man, Act Like A Lady, written by Steve Harvey. This film has the crème de la crème of black Hollywood in it, and the up and coming actor impressed his cast and crew by being someone who was extremely prepared, hard working and kept a positive attitude. Comedian Kevin Hart said on Power 105, a NY radio station, that “Terrence J came to the first table read with his lines memorized.” He had never seen that before, and Kevin gave him hats off for being so serious about his craft.

Terrence J knows the importance of taking full advantage of great opportunities by preparing himself for them. Not only is he professional, he’s very connected to charitable youth organizations and regularly speaks on panels about peer pressure, drugs, sex, voting, and the empowerment of young people to find out about college career funding that is available to them. He is a great example in the community, and not bad to look at, but I digress.

Terrence J is an alumni to Omega Psi Phi Fraternity; which he joined during his college years at North Carolina A&T, achieving a degree in mass communications. He understands that he is in a rare position, and that position is something he has not taken for granted. Next up for Terrence J is a role in the film Sparkle, which stars the late Whitney Houston. It hits theaters sometime in August 2012. Terrence J, is showing us different sides of himself and for good reason. He is being quoted as saying “I’m not here to make money. I’m here to make history.”
